Historical Covered Bazaar in Ahar is a beautiful market which is one of the best markets in Azerbaijan. Ahar Bazaar with its extraordinary decoration and plaster works mesmerize everyone who visit this historical monument. The main part of this bazaar consists of two floors with aisles and domes made of brick. The shops are also designed with Islamic architecture. Since Ahar Bazaar was renovated once by “Nasir Baig” the ruler of Arasbaran in 1942, it is also known as Nasir Baig Bazaar. There is another part of the bazaar which has kept its traditional architecture and nothing has been changed since then. Ahar Bazaar consists of four main aisles that include Aisle Bazaar, Nasir Baig Bazaar, Jafar Gholi Khan Bazaar and Shoe Makers Bazaar. This covered construction has many entrances which includes Bazaar-e Mesgaran, Kolahdozan Bazaar, Ahangaran Aisle and Doab Square. Some parts of the bazaar were destroyed by the earthquake in 2013 but fortunately were renovated after three months.
