Kolah Farangi Citadel is one of the historical monument of Birjand in Iran. This magnificent citadel was constructed during Qajar era. The Kolah Farangi Citadel which was also called with different names during different periods has a complete architectural plan on the ground floor. The entrance of the citadel was built in front of the ground floor and made beautiful ceilings with several arches. The citadel is a hexagon and on the top it shapes like a cone and colored in white. Kolah Farangi Citadel was made of brick, mud, mortar and lime. Apart from its architecture, the citadel owns some important parts. All parts were decorated with several decorative features and interestingly they are connected to each other through connective aisles. The octagonal Howzkhaneh of Kolah Farangi citadel is about a meter under the ground level and the surrounding sections are really beautiful because of the presence of eye catching Moqranas. A lovely water fountain here not only circulates the air but also doubles the beauty of this part.
