Shahrokh Teimuri was one of the greatest Timurid kings and the fourth son of Teimur Gurkani, who was interested in science and art. After the death of his father, Teimur Gurkani, Shahrokh who was a peace seeker, overcame the rebels and reigns. Shahrokh has chosen Harat as its capital and turned it into a center for artists and scholars. During his reign, he paid attention to the development of this area, so he ordered to restore the destruction which were committed by his father. His wife, Goharshad, also has built many buildings, including a school and a mosque in Harat and Mashhad. Shahrokh Teimuri died in Shahr-e Ray when he was 73 years old. Though there is no detailed information about his tomb, but there is a quadrangle building in Damghan, near the Imamzadeh Jafar courtyard, which is referred to Shahrokh Teimuri. The height of this brick building is about 12 meters and has a circular dome. There is no exact evidence to claim that Shahrokh Mirza Monastery is at this place; that is why some believe that this building is not his monastery. Inside the entrance, there is spectacular tile decoration over the bricks that are most likely to be built on the orders of Shahrokh Teimuri.
