Khormoj Castle in Bushehr is one of the most famous and remarkable castles, where guardians protected the city in the past. What has left from this castle is the remnants of a huge one that consisted of four battlements, four towers, Andaruni, the central mansion, stables and Qaravolkhaneh that was a multi-purpose place in the castle where the guards could take rest, a place for storing weapons as well as keeping carts and royal horses. Khormoj Castle that is considered as an architectural example of Qajar dynasty, has been invaded over and over again. It is also known as Muhammad Ali Khan Dashti Castle. He was one of the well-known rulers in the south of Persia in 1967 and a great writer and poet whose works are still kept in some famous universities and the National Library of Iran. This castle was registered as a national monument in 2000.
