If you are traveling to Ferdows, make sure to take a side trip to Hasanabad Castle. It is a must-see attraction in South Khorasan Province. The castle is also known as Qal'eh Dokhtar, located 8 km northwest of Ferdows and 2 km from Hassanabad village. This castle has a few fencing in which works of baths, towers, castles and large iron nails are observed. This castle has a brick tunnel connected to Mount Qaleh, the other Ismaili historical castle, and connects these underground roads to the middle of the historic city with an underground road. Hasanabad Castle is a trace left from the Ismaili era of the fifth and sixth centuries AH. This castle has a very strategic location, the three sides of the castle are towards the abyss and the only way to enter is through the gate that is located in the southwest of the castle.
