In 1342 Hijri Calendar, a dam with the height of 54 meters was built on Abshineh and Yalfan River in order to supply the water for agricultural land cultivation that its height has reached to 79 meters in these days. Ekbatan Dam Lake was known as Shahnaz dam before Islamic revolution but then its name was changed to Ekbatan in 1357.  Ekbatan Dam Lake is about 60 hectares and located 11 km away from south east of Hamadan.
