Seyyed Mosque was constructed during Qajar dynasty and is considered as one of the most important mosques in Isfahan. The mosque includes some sections such as four main entrances, two spacious Shabestans, a dome, three Iwans, and more than 45 Chambers, but there are no Minarets. The mosque has a rectangular shape with 8075 square meters area and four entrances in each side and includes sections that are found in other traditional mosques. The portal of the mosque is lined with delicate tiles and historical inscriptions. The large central courtyard called Sahn in Islamic architecture is surrounded by two-story chambers and Iwans, and there also is a pond in the middle of it. The main Iwan is located, on the southern side of the courtyard, and behind it, there is a dome along with Shabestans. The interior and exterior of this Iwan are tiled attractively, which represent the charming combinations of designs and inscriptions. A clock tower has been decorated with delicate tiles above the south Iwan. Due to the fact that there are many interesting ornaments of flowers, plants, and Quranic calligraphy, Seyyed Mosque in Isfahan is considered as one of the masterpieces dating back to Qajar era.
