Khorheh means the location where the sun rises, Khorheh Historical Site in Mahallat, during the time of the Parthians in the village of Khorheh in Mahallat, raised like a temple from the earth and its works remains up to now. By walking through the pillars and the remnants of the courtyard of Khorheh neighborhood is as if you have travelled to the past. It is hard to imagine that centuries earlier people were living here; people who created such high pillars and beautiful buildings with their art; although those people are no longer among us, but the art of handicraftsmen and artists that lasts forever. According to the excavations in this area, archaeologists have discovered works of the Parthian, Sassanid, and Islamic periods that illustrate the use of the region during the past ages. Temple of Khorheh, which currently only two pillars remained, was just a governor house and consists of three linked buildings in an area of 3000 square meters and, like Khorheh Historical Site in Mahallat during the period of the Ilkhanid, was changed to the cemetery.
