Zamankhan Bridge in Saman is a spectacular old bridge situated over Zayanderud River in a lush environment. The idea of constructing the bridge dates back to Sassanid dynasty when Zaman Khan was one of the heads of Qashqai tribes. This bridge facilitated passing over Zayandehrud River and prevented domesticated animals from falling into the river. The historic bridge with 30 meters long and 13 meters high is constructed on a three stone piers with two 8-meters barrels. The construction materials such as brick, plaster and Sarooj have also been used in this structure. In spite of many bridges that were stablished over the river and were destroyed during the winter due to catastrophic floods and raining, Zamankhan Bridge has resisted because of its strong piers and skillful architecture. Besides all these, Zagros Village is situated near the bridge and you can easily accommodate here, since the village features residential units for travelers.
