Museums hold a lot of ancient monuments and bring us a lot of information from the past lives. By visiting museums, you travel to the past and get acquainted with their culture and traditions. The current construction of the Shahrud Museum was first built in the year 1307 for Baladiyeh (municipality), with an area of about 468 square meters in two floors. This building, which has a style such as the late Qajar and early Pahlavi buildings, after the restoration in the year 1367, began its work as the first museum of Shahrud. The Museum of Anthropology and Archeology of Shahrud (Ganjineh Shahrud) is located on Ferdowsi Street in Shahrud, and hosts tourists and visitors who enjoy Iranian history and culture. The Shahrud Museum has two distinct sections, archaeological and anthropological. In the archaeological section located on the first floor, the works from the thousands of years ago, from ancient hills of Sang-e Chakhmagh, Hesar Hill, Khourian Hill and Bolvar Hill and also the works of the Islamic period have been exposed to the public. In the anthropology section of the Shahrud Museum, located on the second floor, works and objects related to the lives of people and tribes living in Shahrud and their professions such as animal husbandry and agriculture are displayed. Also in some parts of this section, the apparel of people of this region has been exhibited so you will be familiar with the costumes of the ancients. There are some works of Ta'ziyeh, a kind of religious theater, and Curtain Reading, which show the religious people of the city from the past to the present day.
