Imamzadeh Hamzeh Reza is located 6 km far from Shirvan. The name of this city originates from an Old Persian word, “Shir” which means lion. It might be because of the mountain in the south of the city which looks like a big lion at rest. The brick building of this Imamzadeh belongs to the Seljuk period and has a quadrangle shape on the side which are as high as 8 meters, it also has been repaired in recent years. The height of this building is 16 meters in the northern and southern sides and 20 meters in the eastern and western sides. There is a 3 × 2 meter netted box with a height of 2 meters in the middle of this tomb which is very elegant.
