One of the most spectacular places of Yazd is the Water Museum that due to its closeness to Amir Chakhmakh Square, attracts many tourists .This museum is located at Kolahdooz historical home. The Kolhadooz house, built on an area of 720 square meters on the request of Haj Seyyed Ali Akbar Kolahdooz (a businessman of Qajar era) in 1850, and it is an amazing architectural art with 5 floors. Two canal branches of Rahim-Abad and Zarch pass from the lower floor of this house, which one of them is currently active. In Water Museum of Yazd, the monuments and historical tools and structures related to water are well displayed, also various drilling tools and qanat digging equipment, instruments for measuring the volume of water, lighting equipment in the aqueduct, documents for the purchase and sale of water, and old endowed letter, booklet and documents for Mirab (Mirab means Amir water or water chief, in fact, he was the director for fair delivery timing of Qanat water to individuals) and water distribution, containers for storage and transportation of water and many other valuable items are kept.
