Arg-e-Googad Hotel in current Golpayegan City was the former strategic stronghold which was located on the way of Silk Road, the longest and most mysterious road of ancient world which connected east to west from china to Spain. Strongholds were the structures used as caravanserais for merchant during peace time, and as a castle during war time. Thanks to Iranian warm and creative hospitality, three star Arg-e-Googad Hotel is currently one of the famous traditional hotels in Isfahan Province. Its special architecture has made it a particular hotel. The building is separated into three categories including floors for workers and shepherd, merchant and ministers, and finally the upper floors belonged to the governor. According to the remained documents, the muddy stronghold dating back to about 400 years ago, belonged to Alikhan who offered it to his wife as a present.
