Chahar Darakht Mosque is one of the most important and impressive works of Birjand, Southern Khorasan Province. It dates back to the Safavid period. The main parts of Chahar Darakht Mosque are: entrance, columned shabestan, small altar and arcades altar, courtyard of the mosque and the form of windows and lighters. The mosque has two entrance doors, one from the courtyard to the mosque and the second one leads directly to the Shabestan. The first entrance has brickwork. The second one which comes directly to the shabestan has formalism decoration. This building has two altars that some people say one of them is for Sunni and the other is for the use of Shi'ites.
