Heleh Protected Area in Bushehr is situated at the intersection of Shapur and Dalaki Rivers and is the home of a large group of waterfowl. This wetland is in the vicinity of the Persian Gulf, 10 kilometers to the northeast of Bushehr Port. The wetland and the protected area receive thousands of migratory and local birds that spend their winter in this region. Rare species including Cranes (bird), gray goose, flamingos, pelicans, black-winged stilts, red-necked avocets, Mallard and Eurasian teals are among this species that motivate bird lovers from around the globe to visit this place. Jackals, Feliformia, foxes, hyenas, hogs rabbits and wolves are other animals that live in this protected area. This wetland has come to exist in 1963 as a result of Heleh River’s outbreak, and since then it has been protected under the supervision of Department of Environment in Bushehr. This area is a perfect place for scientific studies and nature lovers.
