Garmsar is the westernmost city in the province of Semnan, which is rich in ethnic diversity due to the presence of Turk, Kurd, Lor, Gilak and Arab peoples and that is why it is titled as Aghvam Island. One of the oldest houses in Garmsar is Bagheri House (Aghvam Museum), owned by a person named Mirza Ali Bagheri who was one of the governors of Garmsar. The Bagheri House is a memorial from the late Qajar era that was built in two floors and is located in Ayatollah Kashani Boulevard, Shahid Feysali Alley. In the courtyard of Bagheri House, there are water storage, Khazineh and a bath that are remained healthy after many years and now can be visited. The main foundation of this house is the raw clay, which has been decorated with writing on the brick that adds more beauty to the house. Water in Iranian culture has a great importance. For this reason, in most houses in Iran, they built a pool in the courtyard, which, in addition to its usage, plays a decorative role. In 2010, this house began its work as Aghvam Museum. On the first floor of the Aghvam Museum the instruments associated with daily life, and on the second floor, works related to clothing and culture of the local people has been exhibited.
