Dizin Ski Resort in Karaj is the first ski resort in Iran that was recognized by the International Ski Federation and was approved for holding the official tournament and became internationally renowned. Due to specific physical and technical features like the length of the course, place where the competitions and races are held and the course slope along with recreational facilities and amenities, Dizin Ski Resort gained its official title. The resort has 3 Gondola lift, 2 Chairlift, and 7 surface lifts. Moreover, in the summertime, sports such as mountain biking, kite riding, archery and grass skiing are also possible. Recreational facilities of this resort include two hotels, 19 cottages, and 5 restaurants. The Dizin Ski Resort was identified by a group of foreigners seeking a mine in the Mount Alborz in the years 1962 and 1963, under the direction of Kazem Gilanpour, a champion and ski trainer of that time.
