Located 55 kilometers to the northeast of Karaj, Shahrestanak is a village in Asara district. It is a historical village and Nasereddin Shah Qajar used it as his summer resort. He was very interested in sightseeing and hunting so that he ordered to build this palace to accommodate the royal family and accompanies. Naser al-Din Shah Palace is situated in the heart of the village and after the fall of Qajar dynasty, the palace was destroyed little by little as a result of unfavorable weather conditions and human destruction. Naser al-Din Shah Palace is made up of two parts, Andaruni and Biruni. The Biruni courtyard is in a rectangular shape and features a semicircle entrance. The Biruni mansion was constructed on two floors, though the second floor has been demolished. Shah’s private bathroom is located right between Andaruni and Biruni. Andaruni consists of two courtyards with two different levels. The northern courtyard was allocated to the servants, and the southern courtyard was built for Royal family. If you had visited the palace 50 or 60 years ago, you could have seen beautiful wallpapers that were brought by Nasir al-Din Shah from Germany. Even the large doors of the stables were ornamented with colorful glasses. But today there is nothing left.
