According to Islamic texts, Hazrat-e Esmael had 12 sons whose the first and the greatest was his successor and named Gheydar. According to the inscription in the tomb, the tomb of Gheydar the Prophet was built in 719 in the southwest of Khodabandeh in Zanjan province, due to the dedication of Balghan Khatun (wife of Ghazan Khan) to Gheydar the Prophet, and the dome was later created in 751. The plastering of the shrine belongs to the 11th century (Safavid era). The punch of Gheydar the Prophet Holy Shrine in Khodabandeh is made of walnut, and the flowers and bushes designs are beautifully engraved on it.
