Many towers have been built in the past for different usages in this city. One of them is a kind of tower for guarding a part of the city. The guardian has a name called Hadar Bash who was responsible to inform the other guards before the attacks. Keeping pigeons to use in agriculture was another usage of the towers. These towers were built in 2 or 3 floors near the city wall. One of these towers is Mahmood Abad that you can still find its remains in a neighborhood called Mirzaiha. It returns to Qajar dynasty which was made by clay and a roundish plan. In fact, Mahmood Abad Tower was a two-floor building that the open space above the tower was used for living. While visiting Mahmood Abad Tower in Meybod, you can find some holes for nests of pigeons. There are also some simple arches in the outside of the building which show the defense position of the tower. The repairing operation of Mahmood Abad Tower in Meybod has been done with the purpose of adding this tower to the Iran nation heritage list.
