Maybod is a city of kindness and has many historical monuments, where you can visit the sights such as the Kelar Reservoir that is located across from a caravanserai and gives a special beauty to it. Kelar Reservoir in Meybod dates back to the Safavid period. Cisterns are usually located in the center of the cities, and consist of some basic elements, bath, Qanat, Dome, Pashir, and Windward. Deime which is one of the most important materials in the construction of cisterns, consists of ash, lime and sands. Water reservoirs were primarily used for the operation and maintenance of drinking water and next to that; were used for other reasons. In neighborhoods where the aqueduct has been in constant flow, a reservoir called the Abanbar was used to store water. These water cisterns were filled up every day and for drinking water once a year. One of the oldest examples of water reservoirs in Iran is located next to the Choghazanbil site and dates back to Ilam civilization era. To keep the water healthy, they usually made windward over the water reservoir to keep the air flow. On top of some cisterns, the windings of one crater and two craters are located so that the air flows through the wind wards from every side that the wind blows. Travelers can visit the other places of Meybod, such as Mahmoud Abad Tower and Imamzadeh Bibi Khadijeh, after visiting the Kelar Water Reservoir.
