Karkabud is one of the many villages in Taleghan and it is located 135 kilometers to the west of Tehran. The existence of beautiful tall trees expanding leaves over the walls along with cool fresh air and mountainous landscape has given a special beauty to this area. A waterfall is situated near this village that in spite of its low altitude, it mesmerizes the eyes of every visitor. Karkabud Waterfall in Taleghan with 15 meters high receives plenty of visitors, mostly in spring and summer. Karkabud Waterfall originates from northern mountains of Taleghan and eventually joins Shahrood River. There are some cavities bellow the rocks, and it is said that these holes have long been the place of calligraphers and writers of holy Quran. There are some ponds at the bottom of the waterfall that are suitable for swimming. You have to walk for half an hour to get to the waterfall from the village.
