Geographically located in the southern part of Alborz Mountain Range, Tehran is the biggest, most populous and the capital city of Iran. The history of Tehran’s prosperity dates back to the time when Agha Mohammad Khan Qajar chose it as the capital. During the power of Reza Shah Pahlavi, the city developed a bit faster and attracted many people from surrounding districts. Due to this fact, Tehran is known as a cultural melting pot. Golestan Palace which was registered as a world heritage site by UNESCO is in the downtown of Tehran. Milad Tower and Nature Bridge are two symbols representing Tehran. Presence of many palaces, gardens and parks, museums and other historical and cultural attractions such as Tughrul Tower, Niavaran and Sadabad Palaces, National Jewelry Museum and the traditional covered Bazaar changed Tehran into a tourist destination.
