Kuh-e-Shir Protected Area with a total area of 58519 hectares is located 20th km to the west of the city of Bam. This area from the north part leads to the Darzin plain, the warm and dry desert of Lut, and from the south to the mountainous region called Kuh-e-Shir. Kuh-e Shir Protected Area has two climatic conditions and different vegetation due to its geographical position and the location between the desert and the mountains area. There are a number of permanent and seasonal rivers in the area that give the life to the plants and animals of the region. There are two villages in Kuh-e Shir Protected Area in Bam named Cheshma and Kobaroo in which the villagers live doing animal husbandry and agriculture. In the western part of the Kuh-e Shir Protected Area, there is a Tourism zone called Dehbekri that nature lovers can choose this place as a destination for their travel. The old trees of Uros, Boneh and almond are abundant throughout the Kuh-e Shir Protected Area and create unique scenery. Uros or cypress tree is a resistant tree that grows at high altitudes.
