Mir Mohanna Island in Bandar Ganaveh is one of the Iranian non-residential islands in the Persian Gulf. This Island is situated in the south of Rig Port. Grapes and figs of this island have long been famous. There is a large Jujube tree on the island, as well as a dome named Qadamgah of Imam Ali, and it is believed that Imam Ali who was the first Imam of Shia had passed this island long ago. The island was named after one of the local bandits, Mir Mahnna, who attacked Karim Khan Zand and Dutchmen. Mir Mahanna was born during Karim Khan Zand Dynasty and his father, Mir Naser Rigi was the ruler of Rig Port during the last years of Nader Shah ruling. In later decades, people of Bushehr planted a tree in memory of him and called it “Mir Mahanna Jujube tree”. It was believed that this tree had miracle power and could heal patients and solve people’s problems. There are some plans to turn the island into a great tourism destination.
