Ardashir I, the king of Sassanid Empire, ordered to build a palace in Firuzabad in Shiraz, Fars Province in 224 AD. The palace of Ardashir Babakan is geographically located near the Maiden Fortress. It is also famous as Atash Kadeh among local people. The palace owns interconnected halls and with being over 1800 years old, the plaster works of the upper parts of the wall got no damages. The magnificence of the palace with these beautiful signs will attract everyone’s’ attention.  On the eastern side of Ardashir Palace, there are three big structures in the shape of domes, similar to those in the Maiden Fortress. It is believed that this palace is connected to the Maiden Fortress through an underground tunnel. Outside of the palace, in the northern part, a spring made a nice pool with an eye-catching view. A river passing by the palace causes the surrounding to be lush and beautiful so visitors could enjoy their trip the most.
