Fars province is one of the oldest area which has lots of ancient and historical buildings and monuments which indicate the ancient times and the importance of this region. The city of Shiraz, with the presence of marvelous historical monuments, especially the Persepolis, is like a dazzling beauty of the province. The Sassanid archaeological complex is located in the southwest of Fars province. There also are eight archaeological sites in three areas: Firouzabad, Bishapur and Sarvestan, among which Alaedin Travel would like to bring you to the Sassanid archaeological site of Firuzabad which reveals the splendor of the beauty and majesty of the Sasanid Empire. This monument, as its name shows, was made upon the order of Ardeshir Babakan, founder of the Sassanid Dynasty, in the year 1800. From the Sassanid Archaeological Perspective, Firuzabad crosses the watercourse that has spawned the city's prosperity. A little bit above the Firuzabad Palace, a Fire temple existed for a religious ceremony, which deserves to visit in this complex. Due to the location of this complex along a fountain, the fire temple is also called the Firuzabad fire temple. The construction of the Ensemble of Historical Sassanian Cities in Firuzabad is the first Sassanid vault and dome erected with a genuine national architectural style with semi-rusted stones. The quadrangular and semi-column pillars of this collection were all made of clove and this type of column is also seen in Parthian period architecture. Inside the monument and above the rocks in the Sasanian landscape of Firuzabad are decorated with excellent plastering, and above the niches and portals there are paintings and plastering of the walls and vaults. The presence of four elements of water, wind, soil and fire has given a special privilege to Sassanid Archaeological Landscape in Firuzabad. In the Sassanid archaeological collection of Firuzabad, materials such as mortar and rocks are used and covered by plaster. The walls outside the palace have no windows, and most of the walls are similar to the castle walls, so that the building has columns adhering to the wall and vault. On the northern side outside the wall, a pure fountain made a natural pool in front of the complex. To travel to Shiraz, book a tour online at Alaeddin Travel Web site.
