Chardavol County is located in northern part of Ilam between two magnificent mountains, Mount Laneh and Mount Charmin. There are more than 180 historical sites in this province that show the antiquity of this region. Moshakan Fire Temple is one of these historical monuments in Ilam, located 3 kilometers from Sarableh, and it dates back to Sassanid dynasty. The fire temple is made of Sarooj that is a kind of water-resistance mortar used by Iranian architectures. The architecture of the temple is simple consisting of a dome on four heavy piers joined by arches. Moshakan Fire Temple has been demolished in many parts by natural phenomenon, but in 2003, the basement was reconstructed by Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Ilam.
