Bibi Shahrbanoo  is the name of a Tomb in Shahr-e- Rey, and according to the inscriptions in the tomb and locals beliefs, Shahrbanoo was the wife of third shies’ Imam, Husayn ibn Ali (the son of Ali ibn Abi Talib). Bibi Shahrbanoo Tomb in Shahr-e- Rey is a rectangular area surrounded by stone walls. The oldest part of the tomb dates back to 15th century, and it is located outside of the city on Mount Tabarak. With the construction of new walls, pouches, rooms and corridors, the main courtyard is divided into two sections. The main tomb is made up of stones, with brick arches. The architecture style of structure is of Sassanid era. This monument includes a small Haram (sanctuary), and the main entrance faces the north featuring a portal from Safavid period. The tile works and stucco decorations also belongs to Qajar dynasty. There is a cave down the stairs on the left side of the tomb where propel light candles and pray. It is costumary to take off your shoes and put on a hat before you enter the tomb, this way you show your respect to the tomb.
