Marble Throne or as it is known in Persian, Takht-e Marmar is one of the most attractive parts of magnificent Golestan Palace in Tehran. Fath Ali Shah ordered to build a bed which always locates just right in the middle of the veranda. Iranian artists used the best art of architecture, stonework, mirror works, plasterworks and tiling to make a fabulous place in the middle of Golestan Palace and double its beauty. It was made of 65 big and small marble stones and these parts are connected with 5 flat marble stones from the bottom. The marble statues in the shape of angles and monsters are around the throne just like they are holding and carrying it. This masterpiece was called Marble Throne or Takht-e Marmar. This throne was a place where ceremonies of king’s crowning were held there. All around Takht-e Marmar, there are inscriptions designed with Persian poetry, all praising the king. A magnificent column designed with fantastic stone work is next to the throne and a lovely blue pond splashing water is in the front making a fantastic atmosphere and view.
