Geographically located between two famous places of Tehran called Toopkhaneh Square and 30 Tir Street, Mashgh Square in Tehran is a historical monument dating back to Qajar era. The place was a military area used for the military rehearsals by the troops during the kingdom of Fath Ali Shah. Historical Mashgh Square in Tehran with a foursquare plan being as big as 400 meters was believed to be the biggest military square at that time. The square is surrounded by many buildings each having their special architecture. Their style is a combination of Persian architecture in different periods and European style of construction. Among them, Qazaqkhaneh is the oldest complex and Malek National Museum and Library is the newest one.
