Firuzabad

Founder of Sassanid dynasty, Ardashir Babakan, planned a city called Firuzabad which is in the Fars Province these days. The city had kept its importance during Sassanid period and was a prosperous center at that time. The king of the Buyid dynasty also paid a lot of attention to Firuzabad, thus the city owned Jame Mosque, hospital, school and library. It is important to mention that Firuzabad is the first rounded city. The Maiden Fortress was built on top of Tangab Mountain and was constructed by plaster and stone and was used for military purposes. The magnificence of Maiden tower is astonishing and the walls are still awesome although some parts were ruined. Many historical and natural sightseeing are expecting visitors who love an adventurous trip to the heart of joy.
