Chaleshtor Castle in Shahrekord is a magnificent monument in terms of architecture and carving art. The historical castle is a combination of Iranian and Europian architecture and its stone pillars attract the eyes of visitors at first sight. This structure was built in two parts in an area as wide as 12,000 square meters. This castle was the center of ruling over the villages and surrounding regions, and it was bordered with 22 towers from the late Safavid to Qajar dynasty. Featuring 38 columns with porch and portal, the castle with its legendary and myth figures, flowers, birds along with twisted plants and angels are considered as masterpieces of architecture. The rooms are ornamented with a blend Iranian and western paintings. These paintings are created so skillfully and in some cases they are carved on the stones. Chaleshtor Castle in Shahrekord was registered as national monument in 1999.
