Built under the supervision of German engineers and based on German style, Sa’at Tower or Clock tower is the main office of the municipal government of Tabriz. The Sa’at Tower used to be Tabriz Municipality, but due to its historical value, it is a museum now. It was built in 1934 and it is considered as the only municipal museum in Iran. Additionally, it is ranked as one of the first municipal museum in the world after China Municipal Museum. The museum was constructed in an area with 800 square meters and consists of various halls such as Cameras Hall, Old Cars Hall, a hall dedicated to Iran & Iraq war, Carpet Hall, Publishing Hall, Calligraphy Hall, Contemporary Arts hall and some other halls. The major hall of the Municipal Museum in Tabriz exhibits the best handmade weaved rugs and other halls display first made objects such as first movie projector, first taxi cars, photos of new establishments and constructions and old firefighting tracks. Moreover; documents related to Baladiyeh of Tabriz, many gifts from foreign officials, manuscripts, artwork, administrative and financial documents, Chinese instruments and travel writings about Tabriz are some of the items that worth visiting.
